Where to park for free in Seville: the real options, and the one that is not as free as it looks
In Seville, free parking means Sundays, public holidays and night-time in the regulated street zones. Holy Week only frees up the afternoons, not the whole day, and that difference earns a fine for anyone who trusts the easy summary.
If you are driving in Seville, for instance in a hire car, free parking comes down in practice to three moments: Sundays and public holidays in any regulated zone, night-time outside the enforcement hours, and a partial exception during Holy Week that several websites exaggerate.

When is street parking free in Seville?
On Sundays and public holidays, in all three regulated zones (blue, green and MAR), there is no ticket and no enforcement: you park without paying all day. The rest of the week, the rules apply 9:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday, and 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays.
Outside those hours, at night and on Saturday afternoons, street parking is also free, although nobody highlights it as much as Sundays. It is the simplest option if you reach a hotel in the centre after 20:00.
Is it true that parking is free throughout Holy Week?
Not in the way some summaries put it. The City Council's official text refers to "Holy Week afternoons" as the period exempt from the rules, not the whole week. Mornings are still charged at the normal hours.
Anyone who parks at eleven in the morning on the Wednesday of Holy Week, trusting that "the whole week is free", risks a perfectly valid fine. Not every page summarising the rule explains this difference between afternoon and morning as clearly.
Are the park-and-ride car parks free?
No, and they should not be confused with the regulated street zones. The Prado interchange car park charges €0.75 an hour, capped at €9 a day and €3 a night. That is cheap compared with a car park in the centre, but it is not free.

How much can a week with a car in Seville cost, even if some of it is free?
More than the word free suggests. Adding a few hours in the regulated zones on weekdays, an underground car park for a couple of nights and perhaps an event pass, a full week with a car in Seville can come to between €120 and €200, at 2026 prices.
That is why the old town is closed to general traffic between 10:00 and 2:00 the following morning on the big days of Holy Week: the city would rather the car stayed outside, free or not.
If the car is going to stay parked for most of the trip, choose where to stay with that in mind. A hotel with its own parking, or within walking distance of a park-and-ride, saves moving the car every day in search of a free space.
